Elan Barenholtz PhD
Associate Professor at Florida Atlantic University
Hey, I'm Elan. I'm an associate professor of psychology and complex systems at Florida Atlantic University. I co-direct the Machine Perception and Cognitive Robotics Lab and I am also associate director of the Center for the Future Mind
My research is concerned with computational models of brain function. I am currently working on a unified autoregressive generative theory of cognition based on the same core computational principles of Large-language Models Like ChatGPT. In a nutshell, I argue that LLMs reveal that language is a self-contained, autogenerative system that runs on our brains without true grounding and that this further revelas the autoregressive nature of our brain function more generally.
